Gender: Male
Nicknames (aka): Meess, Meeks, Meekers.
Look & Color: Tan Seal Point Siamese. Note how his whiskers look like the whiskers of a seal.
Likes: To run when I try to pet him, but only if I approach too fast. As a senior citizen kitty cat, Meecees doesn't see too well, as such, his eyes have a hazy look. This is why when petting him, you must move your hand slowly towards him, otherwise, he'll begin to flinch as he can't fully see what’s coming at him. If you come at him too fast, he may end up running off (he'll be back). But, once you start petting him, he'll turn on the purring, sing his overly friendly meows, and hand out plenty of nose nudges to indicate, "More loving please!". Meecees, being quite skinny, can always be found standing on top of the heat vent. Cats like their warmth, but Meecees needs (requires) extra heating as he's very skinny (skin and bones). He's been this way for many years, and isn't a medical issue, he just like's his warmth (like me, 70 or below is cold, and I keep my heat at 78 during winter). Another like for Meecees is sleeping in the tube portion of the cat tree. It is a mystery as to why he doesn't get up on the higher perches of the cat tree as cats like to be high up on things. He's not too weak, so he must like being low to the ground just in case (of what, I don't know).
Dislikes: Being held (I find that most cats don't like to be held). Once you pick him up, he may not fight (kicking and clawing) too much to get down, but he'll make his displeasure known as he'll freeze up and give you an ominous look saying, "Uh, yeah, please put my old body down, I’ll thank you." Also, Meecees doesn't like anything cold. His water and food, the temperature, or his bedding, must all be at least a little warm for his comfort (again, under 70 degrees is considered cold in our household).
Personality: Shy and Independent, however, friendly with humans and all the other cats. Meecees is the grand cat of the house (he's the oldest), and a mentor and confident to all the others. He's also willing to come to me or most people for loving and attention. I don't always have to call for him, he'll just be there when he's ready. Also, Meecees doesn't see too well. You have to move your hand slowly towards him, otherwise, he will flinch away.
What makes me so awesome? If I softly call out for him, "Meeeceees, Meeecees!", he'll come to me slowly and give me a crackling sounding meow (he's old) indicating he's ready for loving. I'll then reach out with my hand, and brush his soft fur on the top of his head.
Best Friend(s): Harley (whom is sadly no longer with us, but lived to be 16 years. See first picture in Stories link below). Right now he mingles with the crowed not playing any favorites. He is the senior cat as of now.
Favorite Food: Thai food, Mexican, anything spicy and hot.
Favorite Music: Oldies but goodies, Big Band and Swing time sound, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, as well as some good Jazz, Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, and the rest of the greats.
Favorite Movie and/or T.V. Show: Any anime and superhero movies (any). But, no T.V. shows as that's too boring for Meecees.
If I were famous I would be: A famous scientist or doctor finding the cure for feline leukemia and any other ailment that afflicts the feline community.
Ambitions: To reach 20 years old and beyond. I'm very healthy and I'm taken wonderful care of, so I'm feeling good about it.
