pete's Bio
Gender: Male
Nicknames (aka): Sweet Pete, Peta, Peets.
Look & Color: Orange and White. Pete lost is right rear leg, which used to be white, in a coyote attack in the Spring of 2018. More on that to come, but I mention it here to help in the understanding of the below writings.
Likes: Pete is a lover of many things, but one of his most loved and treasured pastime is getting petted and held. Pete will hop on over to me, look up at me with his tinder pouting face, and will bless us with singing a line of meows (meow, meow, meow) to profess his eagerness for some good ol' fashion loving time. Fingers are never safe around Pete as another love of his is to get in some nibbles during his precious "Attention Time". Now, he won't bite to break skin, and is just part of his loving, but for Pete's sake Pete, stop trying to bite my fingers, my little three leggged loving kitty cat.
Dislikes: Dogs, Coyotes, Wolves, Foxes. Pete was an outdoor barn cat at the time of his attack. So, animals bigger than Pete tops his list of dislikes. Another contender for Pete's most disliked is not being payed attention to. As I alluded to in Likes (above) Pete won't take "No" for an answer when it comes to him getting the spotlight. Wherever I may go, Pete is sure to follow. He'll call out at every step, "Hello! Give me my undivided and never ending attention. You remember last time when you ignored me, don't you?". Read what Pete's talking about when he says this in 'Stories' (link below).
Personality: Always the first cat to greet you at the door, Pete, with an ear-to-ear kitty smile, will happily extend his paw for a paw-hand shake (and, even with three paws! Pete is magical!). So, unless you are a dog, coyote, or other large varmint, you are most welcome in Pete's home.
Who Am I? I once lived outside on a farm with horses, donkeys, and a pot belly pig. But, one bitterly cold and unusually dark evening, I was attacked by a coyote and ended up losing my right leg. This abruptly ended my days as a barn cat, and I now I live in doors with my family. To this day, since the attack, I still can't decide if I'm an outdoor cat or indoor cat (you're an indoor cant Pete, an indoor cat).
What makes me so awesome? For such a small lad I'm a pretty tough kitty. About an inch of the end of my tail is missing, and my left ear is clipped. Also, as you already know, my right rear leg had to be removed because of some stupid coyote. But, since I healed, I now can run, climb, and play just like the rest of ye'all supercharged kittys out there.
Best Friend(s): Pete is a cool cat, friends with most. However, if any cat goes after Pete, Pete will return the favor, not taking any guff, even with 3 legs. On one such occasion, Tiggy (also on this site), made a feable attempt to push Pete out of the way when treats were being handed out. Throwing his left shoulder as if a hockey player delivering an explosive check on his opponent, Tiggy knocked Pete to the floor. Responding without delay, Pete stood back up on all 3 legs, looked at Tiggy with a "Yeeeaaaa, rrrriiiigghttt!" smirk, and dispatched two lighting fast swats to Tiggy's left cheek. Tiggy immediately moved over to his right about a foot, and Pete received his much earned and deserved treats.
Favorite Food: Lean Meats and Poultry, Fresh Vegetables, Fish, Eggs, Cheese, Nuts and Seeds, Legumes/Beans, all mix together in a blender and served in a bowl.
Favorite Music: 60's and 70's Music. Pete can hang and rock-n-roll with the best. Pete's favorite musician and inspiration is Rick Allen from Def Leppard - A true success story risen out from a tragedy.
Ambitions: To get back outside, but he's now a permanent inside kitty. Pete loved the outdoors when he lived at the barn, and now is loving the sweet life of sleeping on a cat tree inside. Either way Sweep Pete is happy.
