Gender: Male
Nicknames (aka): Rebs, Reb Bebs.
Look & Color: Long black hair (but for some reason never gets tangled). Also, it is shiny all the time (maybe this is the reason it doesn't get tangled). I know cat's should have a shiny fur coat, but Rebel's will shine like the beating sun on a hot July summer day.
Likes: A box and Rebel are truly a match made in cat/box heaven. Whether a small, medium, or large sized box, it is Rebel's life quest and ambition to fit into ANY box! At the same time, when it comes to liking something, for Rebel, a human's lap is a golden treasure of endless warmth and overflowing kindness. Once he's up and safely resting on his perch (your lap), he'll stretch out his long furry paws, and close his eyes to notify you that he's ready for his pettings.
Dislikes: Rebel, being that he's slow moving and slow thinking, tends to get in the way of others when they are trying to walk. His feelings aren't hurt, but he most assurdaly dislikes it when humans are always tripping over him. "Rebel! Get out of the way!", we'll tenderly but sternly cry out. He doesn't care, he won't move out of the way for anyone. He'll just stand there in the same spot, and look up at you, in suprise, with his big bright yellow eyes as if he just saw a kitty ghost.
Personality: Not sure if he wants to be outside or not, Rebel spends a lot of time dreamily gazing out the window with big hopes that there is more to life than just living in this house. Personality trait or not, Rebel isn't the best of climbers due to something weird with his back legs or hips. We arn't quite sure the reason for this as he came to us as a 6 week old kitten with this condition, if it even is a condition. For all we know this may be normal, and it is "just Rebel". Whatever it is, it by no means deters Rebel from climbing the cat tree all the way to the top. But, for him he has to stop at each step along his journey upwards to the top spot on the tree. Same for his trip down the cat tree, step front paws first then hind legs, and repeat until at the bottom.
What makes me so awesome? I'm the big kitty on campus. Eventhough I'm full of long hair, my bones are really big. I have to be about 5 pounds heavier than the next biggest kitty in the whole entire house. I tend to test the waters for the other cats and end up the first to get into things, especially anything new, or is a box or box like.
Best Friend(s): Pretty much everyone. Rebel is easy going and loves to love, including other cats. Always willing to give cleanings, you can tell when Rebel has been at work. Almost every cat in the house has Rebel's breath on their fur.
Favorite Food: Amasi, Chakalaka, Boeber, Frikkadelle, Potjiekos, Sosatie, Vetkoek (South African Dishes).
Favorite Music: Stray Cat Strut (Stray Cats), Cats in the Cradle (Harry Chapin), Honky Cat (Elton John), What's New Pussycat (Tom Jones), Cat People (David Bowie).
Favorite Movie and/or T.V. Show: Adventures of Superman "The Lucky Cat", The Beverly Hillbillies "Elly's Animals" and "The Cat Burglar", Cheers "The Cape Cad", The Donna Reed Show "Cool Cat", Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. "Cat Overboard" (old T.V. shows featuring cats).
If I were famous I would be: A famous love guru because I love to give loving, that's what I'm all about, love, love, love, and getting petted, of course.
Ambitions: Determine how to fit into smaller and smaller boxes. "I'm the biggest cat in the house, sooooo, I'm picking the biggest challenge", self-righteously proclaims Rebel.
