tiggy's Bio
Gender: Male
Nicknames (aka): Tiggs, Tiggy Wiggy.
Look & Color: Gray and black tabby with awesome looking vertical and horizontal black stripes throughout.
Likes: Lions and Tigers (but, not bears). To some of us, Tiggy looks like a tiger. His full nose and wide head gives him the 'lion look' except in a much, much smaller package. This has lead him to immediately react anytime a lion or tiger comes onto the T.V., and is most assured to stop and watch. He loves those lions and tigers. Tiggy also likes when you rub his belly (he'll bite you softly, which is ok as it doesn't hurt). When he's ready he'll jump up on the couch, quickly walk in a circle, plop himself down with his bellow fully exposed, and lookup at me with a kitty smile signaling it is time for some good ol' belly rubs. Since we're still talkin' bout likes, when treats come out, so does Tiggy. He's the first on the scene. I'll grab the bag of Friskie's kitty treats off the shelf and open it. The sound of the bag opening fills the entire house (well, at least the cats hear it from anywhere in the house, they have better hearing than a dog). I turn around to walk to the counter in my attempt to spread the treats out (they eat them before I can spread them out), and low and behold, Tiggy is right there meowing away for his treats. He thinks they are all his, but luckly he shares with the other kittys that are also ready for some treats.
Dislikes: Dogs - Any and All. I know one would say, "Well duh, he's a cat, this makes sense." But, no, he really hates those beasts. Our dog Major, a German Shepherd whom is also on this site (love you Major), can never get a break. It does not matter if Major's making his way to get water at the drink hole (the water bowl), walking over to see his mommy or daddy, waiting patently to go outside, or plainly just hanging out, with eyes wide open Tiggy will take a step back, puff his fur up in full static cling mode (like when static makes your hair stand up), and will give a stern growl followed by an unnerving hiss, "Go away dog! I don't like you!". Along with dogs, for Tiggy being picked up and held is definitely not a pleasurable experience. Tiggy, relaxing ever so sweetly on the cat tree and sounding out his fast and loud purr, I see my possible opportunity to pick him up (always on the look for these moments). I nonchalantly stroll over to him, "Hey Tiggy, so what's uh goin' on?", I say without letting my intentions be known. Using my left hand, I gently lay down a few pettings on his stripped Tiggy furr, and slowly scoop him up with my right. Slow and steady is the key. BUT, no more than a few seconds, out roars a meow (a full deep roar like a lion), and Tiggy, clearly agitated, desperately pushes off with his hind legs to get away. To the floor he goes, and runs off in one of his kitty fits. Also, did I mention dogs? Because, oh boy, he doesn't like those things.
Personality: Big is one description used to describe Tiggy's personality. Whether it is his loud and rumbling purr (which sometimes squeals like a piggy), his zest for running after the other kittys when playing, or the passionate love he has for his treats, Tiggy is never short on personality.
Best Friend(s): Joey (brother), Sebastian, Buddy, Rebel, and Baby Cakes. For some reason he doesn't like the female cats in the house. We are not quite sure why but he goes after them as if they just took the last morsel of food off his plate. Good or Bad? You be the judge.
Favorite Food: Chicago-style deep dish pizza, Coney Island Hotdog with all the fixins' (one of Detroit's specialities), Stromboli, Suffering Succotash, Philly Cheesesteak.
Favorite Music: Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Red Hot Chili Peppers. Grunge is the sound Tiggy likes most.
Favorite Movie and/or T.V. Show: The Jungle Book, Pulimurugan, Tigers, Madagascar, Life of Pi, Winnie the Poo and Tigger too, and he always looks up at the T.V. when Leo the Lion comes on and does his signature roar (you know, the Lion in the MGM logo you see before a movie starts). Side note, Tiggy also likes the movie Strange Brew (1983) which had Leo in it at the start of the movie.
If I were famous I would be: The star baseball catcher and hitter for the Detroit Tigers (I'm a little Tiggy the Tiger myself). My big round body is perfect for catching the baseball.
