maximilian's Bio

Date of Birth: 3/4/2012
I Was Born In: Redford, MI
I Was Found/Rescued: Stuck in a tree at a park in Redford.
Gender: Male
Nicknames (aka): Millions, Max.
Look & Color: Fluffy black (Reddish/Orangish in the sun). As Max is mostly an outdoors cat, during the winter months his fur is so full you can barely determine if he has a head or feet. But, all that fur comes in handy when Max decides to stay out and not come home for three days during the coldest three days of winter (we are talking about a numbing 15 degrees below zero (Fahrenheit)).
Likes: Getting loving attention when we go outside to sit on our front porch. Max isn't Max unless he's in his own element - the great outdoors. He also enjoys spending his time catching mice and leaving the gifts at our front doorstep (thank you Max, you are most certainly an honorable kitty cat). During winter, Max will come inside to warm his kitty bones. As soon as I open the door to let him in, he’ll sail right to the top of the cat tree. Perched in his spot, a few minutes of cleaning, and then out like a light for a couple hours rest. Once awake, it’s grab some grub time (wet cat food) then back out into the wild. Speaking of chowing down, there are times when we get other small and non-threatening critters (mainly opossums and racoons) that come and help themselves to Max’s dry cat food. He doesn’t care though, and is happy to share. When we do get our little visitors, we’ll toss out some apples, bananas, or carrots (all peeled, duh!), which they love to eat. However, Max will also partake in the said fun, and will eat a little of the apple or banana himself. Of course, not at the same time as the others, only during his private feasting time.
Dislikes: Dogs, Coyotes, and any other varmints bigger than Max (because he lives outside). During the spring time there will be reports of coyotes prowling the hood. Sightings as close as a few hundred feet from our casa (house in Spanish). I want to say Max is safe being outside as he’s very stealthy, has dark colored fur, and is an experienced outdoors kitty. These features give him what is needing to survive the dangers of outdoors. In addition, there are three wooden cat houses on our porch, and small openings under the deck that make for excellent hiding spots if danger comes approaching. Even with his abilities and the available safety nets, Max is still always on the lookout for those dangerous varmints. Another dislike for Max is when he’s inside the house and isn’t let back out when he’s ready. He’ll gladly come inside for warmth, rest, and food, but once he’s got his fill it’s back outside for Max. He’ll let you know he’s ready by meowing excessively, repeatedly jumping onto the table and back to the floor, back the table, then floor, and so on, and doing his fancy dancy turns at the back door. "Ok, ok, I'll let you back out you crazy kitty", I'll blurt out as I quickly open the door.
Personality: As already noted, being quick witted and stealthy is a must if Max is to survive the outdoor living. Also, he’s very affectionate towards humans. Max is always ready for attention.
Who Am I? I'm an outdoor black cat. Some would say I'm bad luck because I'm a black cat. But, I bring joy and good wishes to everyone. I'm proof black cats bring nothing but good karma.
What makes me so awesome? Well, the fact that I do bring good karma is one reason. Also, depending on the sun light, my fur can appear black, brown, rusty, or a mix of three. At the same time, my fur is full and fluffy especially during the winter months. With my fur I can withstand the coldest of days (but, usually he'll come in on the those days).
Best Friend(s): No other cat best friends. He's a real one cat show. His best friend would be his freedom to live outdoors.
Favorite Food: Whatever nature is serving up. Sorry, but it is feline outdoor survival. The outdoors is his wide open wild kingdom (not mutual of omaha though, if you recall that T.V. show. I watched it). Also, dry and wet food put out every morning and night. At times we'll get visiting racoons or opossums that take great pride and joy in eating Max's food. That's okay, we'll put more out. He never goes hungry.
Favorite Music: The sound of chirping birds, scampering mice, the cool breeze, the rustling of the trees. Any sounds of his outdoor realm are music to Max's ears.
Favorite Movie and/or T.V. Show: The views of the front yard from his throne on top of his cat house. Not a movie or T.V. show, but it is a show for an outdoor cat.
If I were famous I would be: A Grizzly Adams or Mick Dodge type. Living off of what God gave me. Never having to explain or make an excuse for anything again. Just me and my outdoors.
As a kitten what did I want to be when I grew up? A fluffy outdoor cat.
